HI, My name is Nicklas, I'm 20 years old and living in Denmark.
How did I get interested in diet and exercise?
When I then started at HTX (similar to college) which involved 8 hours a day in front of a computer, drinking on average 2 liters of coke every day + random snacks/junk food.
This life style ofc hat its effect on my figure. So when I graduated I ended up on a total weight of 88kg (~195 lbs).
Since I had planned to do my part of the danish conscription (just basic military training ranging from 4-12 months), I figured I had to get in shape so that I actually could see it through.
So 3 months before heading to boot camp, I decided to quit the coke, most of the candy, junk food etc. and started to do some running 2-3 times a week.
I ended up loosing maybe 8 kg in that period of time.
Then the days of the army kicked in.
4 months of endless reps of sit-ups, lunges, squats, pull ups and ofc the billion different push-ups.
Furthermore I mostly acted as the platoon radio operator or medic (which involved carrying a medic satchel and a "one time use bazooka", so I ran around with a 20 kg long range radio on my back with all my normal combat gear on ofc.
So 4 months of running around with 20-30 kgs on my back doing again endless amount of running / kneeling.
Even though we ate between 2,5-4 kgs of food every day (we paid per 100 gram of food). I ended up loosing yet another 5 kgs plus gaining the ability to do 50 reps of 60 lbs weighted lunges / 60 pushups with ease.
After ending my small army career, I realized what your body actually can withstand and adjust to, i started weight lifting with one of my friends 3 times a week.
3 months have passed, I haven't really lost much weight since then. But my overall figure have improved by vast amounts.
Since the army I haven't been doing any cardio training. So right now I am maintaining my weight through weight training and building greater muscle mass to force my BMR up.
