I've always been a little plump. Not overly so, but in my 20s, constant sexual harassment made me decide to put on weight in an effort to stop this harassment. I went up to 75kgs and it worked. I was happy at 75kg. Then about 20 years ago I had a gallbladder op that went wrong. I couldn't eat or drink anything for 2&1/2 months. After I came out of hospital, my weight ballooned out of control. At first when I was able to eat again, despite the small portions, I started gaining a kg per week. On top of that I'm on chronic medications that promote weight gain, so I ended up at 118kgs as per the clinic's scale. My blood pressure skyrocketed, my cholesterol was high, my blood sugar unstable. I didn't want to use additional medication, so I decided to follow a calorie based diet. Then I found this app which has given me a lot of motivation.
