I love to read, sew, knit, crochet, and work on my computer. All those things are done while sitting so I get very little exercise. The only exercise I get is when I go over to my neighbors house to cook his meals, which I eat with him. Last year I suffered from a torn meniscus for which I had surgery and it hasn't been right since. I thought if I could lose 30 to 50 pounds that would help my knees a lot.

Years ago, when I was in my 40's, I lost 65 pounds on Weight Watchers, but I was a lot younger and a lot more active. I gained it all back. Then while in my 50's I went on Atkins and lost 30 pounds. Once again I gained it all back. Since then I've tried several times to go on a diet, but my appetite is such that I was always hungry and could never stay on the diet.

Now I'm pushing 80 and thought I'd give Atkins another try to see if it would work for me. Maybe I'm just kidding myself into thinking I can lose weight like I did when I was younger or should I just accept the fact that 185 is the weight I should be at in my old age. At least my doctor says I'm healthy.
