The last 2 days have been rough for no apparent reason. I just seem to be craving salty/crunchy things so I have been going a little overboard on peanuts which I know is not helping my cause. I did great with working out today...30min running and lifting with legs. Trying to keep on track as best I can. I haven't strayed from phase 1 foods...just feel like I was eating too many calories. Why am I so hungry all the sudden!?

i don't know, but i'm the exact same way!!! i like to blame hormones. I've been trying to just drink a lot of water or suck on a candy when i get hit with the feeling of eating. If you want a cruncy snack, try dill pickles, waaaay less calories than peanuts. B/c i'm into phase 2 now, but mostly sticking with phase one foods...sometimes if i want something snacky, i'll have those quaker rice cakes, the mini ones, flavored. I know they aren't south beach approved by any means...but its a decent substitute for not too many calories, you know? just stick with it...thats what i'm doing :) we'll pull through!

I'm guessing but, if you are eating *a lot* of phase one foods, after meals, as your stomach contracts, you develop an appetite. If, after your stomach has contracted, you give it small meals along with snacks in between, it may help you. Insofar as the nuts are concerned, I had the exact same problem at the beginning with cashews (I would eat about 50 at a time). Then I heard here that one should try to limit nuts to about 15 per day so I started measring them out and haven't overeaten nuts again. As you are aware nuts have LOTS of calories and they can easily sabotage your diet. Another thing you can try is light soups to tide you over difficult spots, they can be very satisfying and the price in calories very low. Good Luck sweatpea!
