Friday: I went to bed early and slept very good. I am trying to recover from two and 1/2 years of not getting enough sleep while going to school. Which realy took a toll on me, the stress was enoumous and I have aged terribly and do not bounce back from the normal funk moods that we all get into sometimes. I have gotten out of the habit of exercising and I feel that really contributed. So im getting all the sleep I can and of course Im trying to eat healthy if nothing else. I feel like this is going to be a long trip down a windy road for me. Although I can see a geat improvement already. For the first time in my life I have noticed saggy skin.! ! OH NO! I have never had that before, but then again I have never been as heavy as I was. Of course this means I am succeeding on my weight loss goal ..but saggy skin , really. I hope it will go away if I focus on my nutrition and start to do some exercise. I think I will start swimming I hear that helps with this. Work was a nightmare yeaterday , our laboratory information system went down and of course this ment a trip back into yesteryear when all labs came in and out on paper cards. I had the hotline and took at least 200 calls from people who did not know what to do or how to handle down time issues...totally an operations problems and not a computer problem. Tons of test have to be hand entered and duplicate orders have to be handled by hand today...again not a computer problem but already today Im non-stop triaging calls..Oh well I hope I can help in some way..B gets to go to Astoria to deliver some brew tanks for a small brewery.. he has done this before aand has managed to make friends with the guys who own it. Last time he had to stay over because he sampled too much to drive...I guess they are going to lunch and not drinking today...I hope he has fun...
OOPS,Dang-it.. I ate three little hand scoops of jordan almonds without meaning to. we were having a spirited discussion at lunch about trials and tribulatons of work when all of the sudden I realized I had eaten the jordan almonds, I had to ask the other girls how many they thought I ate because I was so un-aware I was eating them..and I wanted to be sure. Ill have to make sure I sit far enough away from sweets like that in future. I also broke another of my rules...I told the girls at work that Im on a diet...some of them knew already, but after the jordan almond mystery/phenomenon I had to let the cat out of the bag officially...it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be..

I'm not sure you ever really recover from not having enough sleep, Carolyn. But I'm sure glad you're getting enough sleep now. It definitely helps with weight loss, exercise performance and general health issues. It's something I struggle with as well. When you get up at 4am, you really need to go to sleep pretty early in order to get a good night's sleep. Half the time I'm still on client site at that hour. I also know the sagging skin battle. Ugh. I'm not sure all of the things to do about it, but I do try to do weight lifting to battle it a bit. Others on this site have had success with brushing the skin with special brushes. Maybe they'll weigh in here. Hope work is back to normal now and I hope you have a great weekend!
