It is ver gratifying to me that I am no longer getting lost in the bread basket when out to dinner, nibbling at everyone else's rich desearts because "I am on a diet" , dipping into tons of buttered popcorn when I go to the movies-Needing to eat pretzels and potato chips because I NEED salt; M & M's candied peanuts because I NEED something sweet-staying awake until the wee hours of the morning waatching TV so that I can eat some more. I become very aware of the changes in my eating habits especially on weekends when I tend to be more social. Hope all are enjoying their weekend.

I know what you mean about the bread basket - and to think we said yes when they asked if we wanted more! What were we thinking??? Keep up the good work!

It's hard making that change, but it's great when you realize something needs to, keep resisting the food!

I love this diet beacuse it gets rid of all those unhealthy cravings. I'm not downing anyone else's diets, but I have been on the low-fat, counting calorie diet in which you can eat whatever you want as long asyou didn't go over a certain amount of calories, and it made me nothing short of miserable. Oh sure, I lost weight, even a lot of weight. But I was obsessed with numbers, and constantly craving sweets. I would try to get my mind off my cravings, but mind over matter does not work when your problem is physical attiction to carbs and sugar. It took me 2 years to figure out what I was doing wrong. I'm glad to see that so many others are having such success with this program. Keep it up!

This is a really interesting point. It really is about changing your habits isnt it? I find this is really noticable in my eating habits when I am at my uni home or my home home. I am so used to eating badly at home that when I go back to visit i find myself slipping back into old habits v easily. Well done for sticking to your diet so well, I'm so glad that it is all paying off, and that it is become easier because you changed your habits. I read somewhere that these kind of things are the natural habits of skinny people, so that they don't even realise that they are in fact kind of dieting. Keep up the good work, and best of luck on your next weigh-in. x

Very nice! It is truly and eye opener to be able to notice the changes that you've made and what you used to "normally do". Good for you! We do not need all those extra carbs and sugar, we just simply do not need them. Keep up the hard work, it pays off so nicely! :)

Thanks for all of your comments. The only thing is I have only lost 5 pounds to date, and am resistent to losing it seems. However, there is no other way for me to eat, of this I am sure. I have tried so many other diets, and I GAIN-because none of them tackle blood sugar. So I'll keep on keeping on as BT always says, and will expect some slow weight loss in the future again.

Im sure it will happen. Keep on going and if you aren't noticing any difference in a couple of weeks, tell us and we'll bombared you with our wise (?!) words. When is your next weigh - in due??

And... something I try and take in to consideration is that your weight loss isnt as simple as that. It may seem like you have lost 5lbs but because you have had a couple of "up" weeks, like over thanksgiving, you have actually had to lose 7 lbs, you have lost the same lb twice. So if you can stop going up, your weight loss will be showing a lot quicker. Sorry, easier said than done, and im meant to be encouraging. What I'm basically saying is that your dieting is working, because you have lost 7 lbs.

Next weigh in due on Thursday......You can view my diet entries when you have a minute. Thanks.

I love the way you look at it and you certainly have analyzed it. To tell you the truth, even my way of looking at it, 5 pounds, is way opposite of the direction my weight has gone for a solid few years until I started sbd at 165.....util then I could not lose 1 oz., only gained over a period of a few years...up up and up again. I think I learned my lesson about holiday eating...personally I CANT afford to gain when it takes me so long to lose. Thanks again. I feel as though we are having a live chat. Going to sleep now, it's 1:24 in sunny (but nightime) Florida. I'll see you tomorrow, or whenever. Thanks again.

hmm looking at your diet calender I would expect you to be losing weight a little faster. Maybe you have hit a plateau. I am no expert but I think that usually you know how good you have been, and subsequently what the scales are going to say. Lets see what happens on thursday.

No problem. Hope you had a good sleep. So yes - if you think about how much you havent put on when that seemed to the the trend, and that you have lost weight, plus lost weight that you put on in slip ups, you are actually doing tremendously well! :D Night!

There is my age to consider, and also the fact that I take anti-depressants=I'm no expert either, but I SHOULD see at least 1 pound off by Thursday. I have really been good. I suppose if I ate smaller amounts of protein, I would be eating less fat. My carbs are all from healthy foods; veggies and salads. As a matter of fact I just read that if you stay on phase 1 too long, it might slow your metabolism, and I am usually always on phase 1-except for the bad bad job I did for 3 days over thanksgiving. I will try to remember next year, to be thankful for eating less and not gaining weight that takes soooo long to come off.

I really think it is going to happen for you. I was on anti-depressants a year and half ago so I know you are fighting another battle there. I really hope that the weight comes off and that you feel better about yourself for it. Just keep taking it one weigh-in at a time, and remember that exercise is really worth doing as it boosts your mood. I know it takes a supreme effort to get to the point of doing it in the first place. It looks like you eat healthily and that is the most important things. Get some sleep and tackle the day tomoro! :D

Speaking of popcorn, today was my popcorn day and it was swimming in butter (lots of salt to boot). I was a baaaaad boy! :-)

I actually think about you, info, as I did today, when I am in the movie theater where the popcorn is indeed better than any movie one can view. Especially with the BUTTER! Enjoy, you have earned that treat.

I have sent you some messages-look in your inbox. GOODNIGHT it is NOW 2:12 AM - I'm going to whine all day tomorrow about being tired because I am not a late sleeper, but you are so right about the computer. It's hard to stop.
