I've just got home and I don't think I'll attempt to put this evening's intake into the calorie counter! (Maybe in the morning) Had a great evening though, and probably not half as bad on the RDI as it could have been.

Of course, the worst culprit is almost a whole bottle of wine! From the meze platter (starters) I ate two slices of cheese, some broad bean pate, cucumber, tomato, greens and brocolli. I didn't eat the processed meats or the mayonnaise laden tasters.

Then came the hot starters. I ate four mini meatballs (each about 1cm diameter) and one pastry which is definitely about 300 calories by itself.

Main course - white and brown turkey meat and rice made with spices, chestnuts and almonds.

To finish I had about 15 grapes and a few slices of kiwi.

My new jeans ( I went for the jeans and the spangly gold top) are stretchy and although I had the waist taken in when I bought them three weeks ago they already feel and look too big. I wore them anyway :)



9 a.m. Feeling a bit light-headed - I know I need more sleep but I've been awake since 7.30 so hopefully I'll be able to nap later. I also hope I'll be able to spend at least some of the day in quiet contemplation of the year to come but now I'm off to try and write last night's meal in my food diary so I have some idea of the calorie damage - on the scale I'm up 400g which is nothing to worry about.



8 p.m. It's been a very lazy day - not a full-blown hangover, thank goodness, but definitely feeling tired and sleepy and in need of comforting food. I'm going to have a small piece of 'borek' which is in the oven - ready made for a change (!) and 360 calories for a portion. Even with all the 'comfort' food today rather than lots of fruit & veg as usual, I'm just over 100 cal under RDI, as planned.

I had a nap late morning but I'll definitely be having an early night. All the chores are done ready for the work week ahead so I can afford to relax this evening.

400g after such a night is NOTHING. Happy new year. It's always nice to read your journals. I like 'em.
