YES WE CAN! I don't think about it everyday but I do weigh, which is not for everybody.
I find that if I weigh everyday, journal here, and hold myself accountable for everything I eat every time I eat then I do well because you are mentally setting your tone at and to yourself.
I see what I'm putting in my mouth and ask myself is there room for this in my daily intake.
I found that small cheats every now and than is better than it building up and then I loose it and eat too much.
