A riddle...
A week and a half ago, I started Atkins for the first time. I was scrupulous. Stuck to the plan, wrote down everything. Felt better instantly... and lost 8 pounds in four days.
Then I hit a wall. I stuck to the plan 100% but didn't lose an ounce (literally) for the next seven days. I weighed in at exactly the same weight, to the tenth of the pound, every morning.
Yesterday, feeling blah and discouraged, I took a calculated day off and ate Skinny Pop popcorn, a lot of raw vegetables, and an orange. After a week and a half of 20 net carbs per day, I ate 110 net carbs...
And woke up this morning a pound lighter. It's crazy.
I know I do best on low carb (and feel best), and I'm not gearing up for carb fest 2.0, but for one reason or another, paradoxically, it took a day's vacation to break through this plateau. So bizarre.
My plan now is to shift back to eating to LCHF, which has served me well. I will rein in my carbs and record everything.
I'm thinking, though, that as long as I'm eating good carbs, my body might be happier at 30, 40, or 50 carbs a day than 20.
This weight loss business is strange to say the least.
