My mom recently joined out of curiosity to watch her sugars since I was recently diagnosed as prediabetic. I have gotten good at my sugars fast and am rarely over 20grams a day and often under 15. We have been comparing sugars and it's hard to believe how much you can get in so little food! I don't notice much because I stick to what I know I can have but to hear how much other people get is crazy! Even with eating healthy

Do you count fruit? Just curious. I'd never last with that. my little indulgence is a ghiradelli chocolate square and that alone is 8 grams!! Wow!

I have to try to avoid a lot of fruits because we have a hard time getting fresh fruit but I do have apples or strawberries when they're available. They're higher sugar but worth it for apple slices with peanut butter
I got Ghiradelli 86% dark chocolate for Valentine's Day and there's only 1.25 grams per square, but such dark chocolate isn't for everyone

Yes, I couldn't stand the 85% for awhile but I stuck with it and I enjoy it now, I don't have any sweets so maybe my pallet accustomed. I used to eat half a bar which was four squares, now I only eat two squares when I want something rich.
