Man - I have been off the plan now for over a week. What turned into just a few days with family lasted a week. All my doing and all my response to not being in control of my meal plan. I have not learned how to adjust my lifestyle YET to this dash diet plan. I have guilt for showing up to a party and not being able to eat what is being served. Or - as it turned out - also hosting family at my house and preparing non approved food for THEM to eat! I have not yet learned how to adjust my life to this plan. So I gained weight and I am disappointed but I need to focus more on the lesson I need to learn that on the weight gain.
My sister ended up in the ER and was hospitalized for a few days. I hope and pray she can change her lifestyle - but I must be honest and say our paths are truly similar. She chooses alcohol and I choose food. I have high blood pressure - completely controllable and if not, incredibly negative health consequences. I don't think she is going to change and yet here I stopped even trying due to family pressure. How incredibly stupid of me.
I am sad for my sister but I think I also need to be sad for me. Why would I just give up on my fight? I go by the name MommaCan because I CAN DO THIS! I just have to prioritize myself - and figure out why I am so quick to stop prioritizing myself. Time to go find that book someone recommended about weight loss.
