So yesterday I went and bought new shoes...
They're New Balance 1080RW. Previously I have always owned cross-trainers, and because I'm doing more walking, I wanted something with more cushioning. So I went and got fitted for some running shoes. They're actually mens shoes, but that's just because they didn't have the 2E wide in the store in the women's shoes, plus I do like the red - and the women's came in peach or light blue... red is so much more fun!
So, I didn't want to go walking outside with the shoes for the first time in case they were uncomfortable, so I wore them tonight on the treadmill.
My workout on the treadmill tonight, was to try to do 5K in under an hour. And I did it - 59 minutes! It totally kicked my butt! I didn't run it, just walked it. I am not sure if when you're running you work the same muscles as walking, but it seems much harder running.
Tomorrow will be a bit of walking, because we're going to the Zoo! Should be good, I haven't been in YEARS and our objective is to go see the polar bears, everything else is just a bonus! Then tomorrow night, we're going to see Kung Fu Panda 2 at the drive in!
After a fun day tomorrow, it's back to work on Tuesday!
