Question time!

So I have a question related to my diet and exercise. Over the past few weeks I've been doing a lot of exercise. If my heart rate monitor / phone app are to be believed I'm burning anywhere from 800-1600 calories a day exercising. That is above and beyond just my normal day to day stuff. So I've tried to up my calories to make up for this increase in exercise but wanted to get some opinions on whether I'm eating enough / not enough. I usually work out twice a day. P90X in the morning and Insanity or Jogging after work. I'm about 5'10 and currently moving between 170 and 173 from day to day. My body has made drastic changes but i'm looking to build more muscle and lose the rest of the fat on my stomach and love handles.

Here are a few of my calorie intakes the past few days
2529 calories / 120.5g Fat / 164.5g Carbs / 217.5g Protein
2569 calories / 110.5g Fat / 219.5g Carbs / 200.5g Protein
2572 calories / 93g Fat / 243g Carbs / 205.5g Protein
2476 calories / 87.5g Fat / 270g Carbs / 175g Protein

I've been trying to eat more protein and less carbs. The carb numbers are the total number. I didn't subtract out fiber or sugar alcohols. I guess that's another question. Should I be tracking the bad carbs and not all carbs?

Thanks for the feedback :-)

I would track total carbs. Pay attention to all of your healthy ones though. The more you workout the more carbs you're going to need during recovery. Keep the protein up. I'm not a trainer. Maybe you should talk to one about the best way to bulk up but maintain your weight.

Did you have a look at websites like bodybuilding . com? There could be a meal-plan for men your weight and height on there. All I know is to lose fat you have to limit starch and eliminate sugar. If you are interested in a primal approach, Mark Sisson has a great website called marks daily apple. Also, there is a group on FS, only men but I can't remember the name right now. If you can find this group there might be someone able to help you! Good luck, keep us posted!

http://calculators.hpathy.com/calories-need.asp This calulator says that your base metabolic rate is about 1800 calories. This is to maintain your weight right where it is. But its a complicated calculator that factors in carbs and protein. Check it out.
