One of my top 3 reasons to lose weight: To look good & feel comfortable in my clothes.
Let's just face it, when you shimmey your booty into a smaller pair of jeans and wiggle your way into a dress that would have NEVER fit last year... it's a good feeling. Not to mention the added benefit of shopping the clearance racks and knowing that you'll find something in your size. For countless years I've been a plus sized girl. For so long I've hated clothes shopping, recoiled in secret disgust as I looked at the reflection in the changing room mirror. I'm a happy, positive outlook kind of gal - but I have always hated having a huge butt and belly. My 200+ days are so over, and I'm thankful.
Yesterday, my daughter and I scored 4 dresses and 11 blouses for just under $200. The clearance rack at JCPenneys and and an extra 15% coupon were a perfect excuse to try on a lot of clothes. Every shirt I put on my newly hourglass shaped waste looked lovely.
I'm still struggling everyday to keep the junk food out of my mouth. I have to tell myself every night that it is worth the discipline to track my calories and eat an apple for dessert instead of ice cream. I still have 20 lbs to lose before my BMI is "normal". But I feel like I'm surging with energy. I feel amazing. Not all of that amazingness comes from losing weight - but it certainly helps my self image!
