I’m in Phase Three of my wellness journey.
Phase One was to get my children and myself into a safe and nurturing environment.
Phase Two was beginning my fitness journey with dieting and exercising.
Phase Three is honing that in with different doctors, specialists, and diagnostics to find what my specific needs are. So far I’ve found out so many of my illnesses are not all in my head as many have been wont to believe. Now tomorrow I get to see a neurologist to see exactly what *is* in my head, specifically why I get such frequent migraines without relief from medicinal intervention. Is it the TMJ, Fibromyalgia, Autism, or a new yet-to-be-diagnosed thing? Whatever it is, I hope it’s treatable with medication covered by my insurance!

I have vestibular basilar migraines triggered by weather, hormones, and inflammation. I’m already on medication to level my hormones due to ovarian cysts. I’m already on an anti-inflammatory diet and practicing yoga, strength training, and gua sha to work out the inflammation due to my neurodivergent stance and hyper mobility. And “Damn, Jackie, I can’t control the weather!” 😂 So she gave me a new preventative medication in the form of a once a month injection, and a rescue pill for the migraine that might slip through anyway, and a follow up appointment in a month. She was very kind, and listened well. As an added bonus, when they weighed me, I weighed 214.4 WITH MY SHOES ON!

Do you have food triggers? I have common migraine triggers that generally only affect me if I eat large quantities or two triggers at a time. Once the weather is changing, I have to be extra careful about what I eat to avoid migraine.

@abbadabba, I have a very long list of foods I can’t eat due to triggering fibromyalgia pain and inflammation. I don’t eat any of the common migraine triggers like caffeine, alcohol, dairy, artificial sweeteners, nitrates, etc, and I haven’t really seen a decrease in migraines since I quit all those things. Hopefully the new meds show me something. The injection didn’t even leave a mark, and I’m sensitive to everything, so that makes me hopeful.
