Happy Saturday morning FS friends!
A great nights sleep last night. Cool weather, windows wide open, smell of the river. Slept like a log. Even the pups were out cold all night wedged against me in bed. Olive tucked into my belly, Odie against my back, Oz at my calves. Having a queen bed doesn't make for more room to move as these guys are snugglers. I wouldn't have it any other way. In case you're wondering, I don't purposely name my pets with names starting with "O". They come to me already bearing those names. Did I mention that one of my rescued cats is named Oscar? The only anomaly to the naming convention is Angus Puss Puss.
My pile of weeds to go to the dump (compost area not landfill) is getting bigger. John will be here tomorrow so Monday we can load up the truck and drop the stuff off.
It is so nice to not obsess over food. That is the gift that Ozempic has given me. To be free of cravings/wants/irresistible demands for the first time in my life is making caloric restriction a much easier task. I compare the first 3.5 months of this journey where I struggled but complied with the plan, to now. Night and day. Heaven only knows I've dieted and struggled throughout my life. Luckily I am on a low dose and responsive to the medication with no side effects.
To think that this has been a biochemical issue, in my case, likely not insulin resistance, but more a dysfunction of ghrelin/leptin hormones. I am increasingly feeling like less of a failure. Fingers and toes crossed that the med continues to work and that I remain compliant with both the exercise and intake portions of the plan to get to a normal BMI.
