Lots of ongoing pain, so plenty of opportunity to practice "turning off pain" :) I got to bed late due to the heat wave here, and hoping the pain would ease off. I took nothing for pain, and took some of my usual sleep aids. this time I took GNC Herbal Plus Natra Sleep, and TruNature Valerian Root (200mg) Got about 6 hours sleep.
I looked up and found that most of the other sleep aids I use effect short term memory. I really noticed this with Ambien, so stopped using that 8 months ago. I rarely take prescription drugs, and don't like to take these more than 1 or 2 nights in a row. Then when I started using Lunesta generic, and after using if too much noticed that same propblem. Even found out online and in practice, that Antihistamine sleep aids do the same thing.
None of the Herbal type have any negative memory effect for me.
Or course, being 71 years old, and having had a SERIOUS head injuy in 1987, I'm likely more prone to it.
