Can you share the chop suey recipe? Mashed potatoes can be very thinning ...I do not use milk or butter..just Bob's Red Mill flakes...no mono and diclycerides ...I am vegan

Chop Suey
1 pound ground meat of choice
3 T oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1t ground ginger
2C chopped onions
1.5C chopped celery
3T soy sauce, or more to taste
1C beef stock, or stock of choice
1T molasses, or more to taste
24 oz fresh bean sprouts or 2-4 cans bean sprouts
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4C cold water
4T cornstarch
In large pot, brown meat, with garlic and ginger, in hot oil.
Add onions and celery, cook 5 minutes. Add soy sauce, stock, and molasses. Cook another 5 minutes. Add bean sprouts, salt and pepper. Cook until desired texture. Mix cornstarch and water, then add to boiling pot. Mix until thickened and clear.
We cook the celery and onions a bit less, as we like them a bit crunchy. We serve over mashed potatoes and top with crunchy chow mein noodles.
