We don't know what killed my dad. But having 3 girls and seeing stuff like this is what will probably kill me. These are cropped from TikTok vids. The vids are worse and not appropriate. I hate that my kids have social media. Their mom allows it.  

I'm sure her mother knows but doesn't care. I think she allows it just to piss me off. My younger girls will not be on those apps. She has 7k followers and millions of views. I'm sure she likes the attention but she's at risk for predators.  

Yes, Cindy. These are less revealing than what is in the vids. That's what I'm upset about. She isn't even 17. And I can't protect her or prevent her from doing it. I guess TikTok won't do anything unless there is nudity.  

I’m on tiktok for workout vids or info and some really interesting videos that you only get to see cuz people are able capture it and share it on there. But unfortunately there’s a lot of girls in very skimpy outfits that gets lots of followers that way.....

I refuse to get on tiktok. My conservative husband meanwhile watches other conservatives on there. But I think of the security risks of the Chinese owned business. 

Tiktok is no different than any of the other social media sites (or apps for that matter) for what data they collect. The difference is that their content moderation is random and quite terrible in most cases. 

Yea fb is the same. Did you know that every photo/video you upload to fb that they then own it and can sell or market it if they so wished to? It’s crazy, yet millions use it. 

If it’s “free” to use then you are the product. 

You think you are safe, but ANY social media, including this one, collects all kinds of data from you. Hell, I'm posting what I eat every day. This site is free...I'm SURE there is some sort of data sharing out there with even this site. You have a cell phone, then you are already exposed. These days, you can't go off the grid.

I've heard TikTok is collecting more information than other apps but I haven't looked into it. I'm more concerned for her safety from sexual predators.  

Ohhhh, this is your daughter living with your ex. I would probably remove her photos here so that FS predators don't go searching her up. And yes, they are here -- I've been sent creepy PM's and had to report 1 stalker.

OMG, Bananas. That's crazy. I wouldn't think that would happen here. Who comes to diet tracking app to lurk for prey? Was this world this crazy prior to Internet or did technology ruin it? 

@Daddy: There are lonely men everywhere. When you post before/after photos, you run the risk of getting unwanted PM's requesting your real name and dreams of meeting up. The worst PMs were from a married guy who went grossly descriptive in his cheating endeavors.🤮 As if this would be enticing to me. 

Sorry for that. It's every dad's nightmare😔. Internet used to be fun and harmless, but that was ages ago, sigh😌 

I think you can talk to her about it. Younger people have a very different relation to social media. For them this is just a natural environment. Yanking it out is not going to work. I think the best we can do is to teach our children how to take care of themselves in the world they live in.
