I was hoping to have more abs by now but I ran out of steam this month. I'm done pushing myself in a deficit until April or May. Time for some slow growth to get up to 180-185lbs. Then I'll shed some fat for summer.

Oh, thanks! I'm trying hard but my body is resisting change at this age. It's a big year for me. Next month I'll be 44. It's kinda cool. I'm turning 44 in 22 (2022). It will mean that half my life was in the 20th century and half was/is in the 21st.

I’ve lost a lot of weight in my 60’s. It’s all possible if we really want it and keep it up!

Thanks, Caraken! My health is so much better than last year. If I hadn't changed, I wouldn't be here. I'm stuck with blood thinners for life but I can deal with that.

Aj, I'm concerned about my belly as well. Building muscle is hard and you do need to sacrifice the lean look while not letting it get too out of hand. I'll be taking weekly tape measurements and use the calipers to monitor the fat gain. I've recorded my fat loss and measurements at certain weights. I've only lost an inch on my navel for the last 6lbs of fat. So if 6 of my planned 14lbs of gain are fat, it won't be too bad.

Thanks, Hope. And D, I do trick people quite frequently. This guy has very little strength though. I lost all the weight by walking and having a small deficit. I got down to 174lbs in September and then began weight training 2 days a week. I'm trying to do 3 days a week now and hopefully get stronger and build some muscle again. If anyone doubts the power of walking, I am proof that it is the only exercise needed to look fit. Lol If you want to actually be fit, do some strength training as well.

How much did you walk? Weight training strengthens muscles and bone it's good for the body.

I agree. walking is helping me lose weight. Backs no longer hurting clears my mind etc. Have been adding weights (dumb bells) and resistance bands along with a deficit as well. Gained weight but lost inches. I'm at a plateau and just started losing again. You can do it very inspiring!!! I'm 48 and trying to get down that lean muscular look.
