I am feeling so good today, buddies! My blood sugar is back to normal vegan range LOL. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers and well wishes because that was difficult to go through.
So, I am excited that I have T-minus 14 days until I start my new job! Handing over my two-week notice was very easy. My manager was wrapping up my annual review with me and commenting how exceptional my work is and how much I am an asset to the team. Then she went on to say that she has a lot of talent on this team and knows she is going to start losing us one by one to better opportunities and better pay.
I took that opportunity to tell her that I have already been stolen away, and I'm leaving the company. I handed her my two-week notice and she exclaimed, "I knew it! No one dresses up so well and takes 2 hours in the middle of the day unless it's for an interview!" She said when she saw me that day she went home and told her husband that she is about to lose someone soon.
She's really excited for me and sad that she has to find someone else, but understands the reality of the situation. Of course, this office wouldn't be this office without a little shady activity. They won't let me take any days off during my last two weeks. My manager was okay with my request and tried to get it approved and was denied.
To be proactive, I'm already packed up. I brought my old lady grocery cart and am hauling all of my personal property home today. I don't know what they might try to pull before I leave, so I want to be halfway out the door in case something happens.
I'm just really thrilled right now.
