Phew, came through a week that included not only Christmas, but also a number of birthdays and such...and still lost weight. The only day I didn't bother counting everything was Christmas day. I indulged, but didn't go crazy...ate a little candy from the stocking, had a slice of pumpkin pie. During other celebrations I did have some less than healthy choices, but I tried to estimate calories best I could and think I managed to stay under 1800 every day (1800 is the magic number my doctor is recommending). I didn't weigh in 7 days ago, so don't know exactly what my one week loss was, but since my Dec 21st weigh in I have lost 2.4 lbs. Still another holiday to go this week, but this one shouldn't be as big a challenge.

Despite the fact that I'm not supposed to exercise, I'm looking into possible exercises that might not cause strain in the joint....I think I can manage some upper body exercises. I may break out the old Wii Fit, and pick out some safe ones. My body fat % (according to my body fat measuring scale) has gotten way out of hand.

I try to have my meals planned out a day in advance, it helps me keep on track, but I haven't finished todays. I think I'm going to make a simple butternut squash soup for dinner..just butternut squash, apple, chicken broth, and seasonings. That, a salad, and some fruit should work fine.
