I have a question. Hope it’s not to personal. How many calories do you budget for a day? How was the number determined? I try to use only 1450 the amount of calories to maintain 140 lbs.

I used multiple calorie calculators, did an average and deducted 200 for the deficit i am comfortable with.

I'm losing weight and try to eat around 1200 calories a day. I am a senior and can only do so much exercise. I'm a nurse so I knew what was needed

Use a maintenance calorie calculator which counts multiple variables such as gender age ect to get a rough estimate try that number for a month then adjust accordingly and try new calories for a month continue this till you find what works for you. I eat 3250 for weight loss and 4000 normally.

I don’t count calories at all. I do intermittent fasting and try to keeps macros in check (low carbs, moderate protein, high healthy fat) and try to avoid eating processed food as much a possible. There are lots of effective diet plans with diff strategies for diff people/goals, personally I feel like counting calories is def not effective for me.
