How much fiber should someone be eating? I'm pretty sure I'm on the low side.

I'm really curious what you're eating for carbs. Whole plant foods are all going to have fiber. I get about 40 grams on a 1700-1800 calorie total daily intake. Granted, my diet is less protein focused

Potato (red, white and sweet), white rice (including cream of rice, rice cakes, and rice cereal (rice krispies, special k)), cluster dextrin, waxy maize

YetAnotherAccountLOL98, sorry I just read your comment. It's just clean food. I make everything. Nothing frozen or pre packed or canned. I've made it a point to keep my sodium intake in check with my calories going up. Like you mentioned , it's easy to go over board the more you eat. I usually cook my rice in bone broth, but I haven't bought any my last few grocery trips. So normally I'm a little higher. I try to average around the 2500 range.

Your call, but I bet if you switch the white rice for brown and work in some oatmeal breakfasts, that fiber count will come right up. Mentioned berries already. Broccoli has a lot of fiber and actually a fair amount of protein for the number of calories. With the number of carbs you're eating, you shouldn't need to rely on fiber fortified foods 🙂

I like white rice. It's easy to cook and easy to eat... Brown rice is the exact opposite 😂 . The oats and berries route seems like a good approach. I need to lower my protein and increase my carbs anyway so it would be a 2 for 1

Hey, if you like white rice, you do you! 😃 Realize I'm crunchy granola girl here. Even as a kid, I preferred the brown. 😉If ease of prep is an issue, you might try bulgur wheat. Doesn't take any longer to cook than white rice, or you can just pour boiling water over it and let it sit 20-30 minutes. You have lots of options!

I finally went and got some powder protein b/c mine was low too. I’m try to only eat one meal a day, protein shake for breakfast. And maybe a snack before 6 p.m.
