Starting my Spike diet tomorrow!!! I have my last 1/2 marathon next Sunday, so a Saturday spike day is perfect. I hope this works, I expect that I will get out all my craving on spike day and do well the rest of the week. We will see. Wish me luck!!!

Please keep me posted with how this works out! I'm very intrigued by the spike diet. I'm not trying to lose weight, just maintain, but my biggest fear is that my metabolism will slow! However, after eating a lot on Sunday for Easter, it definitely caused a concern for the diet. I felt awful. Seriously, horrible and terrible and SICK. My body has gotten so used to health portions and pretty clean eating that it sent it into a freak out mode and I thought I was going to throw up! Today is the first day that I feel back to 'normal' and that the food baby is gone. So... it took about half a week until I felt like my body adjusted, and my weight # is actually STILL up. I'd be concerned to do a spike day every week. I haven't read the book and need more info, but I'd be interested to see if there is some modification of the diet where I could do a spike day every other week? Good luck!

Don't worry about the weight. I bet it will be down by tomorrow. Do you find that your weight spikes after a long run as well? I do and it always freaked me out. Well the Spike theory sounds like it will work for me. I almost got disgusted by my food journal Saturday like you did on Easter. I am halfway through my first full week and feel ok. On the second day I didn't feel like I had energy, but felt fine by that evening. I am doing well with keeping my calorie counts where they need to be.1200 low days (3 Days) 1400 (3 Days) Spike day (2800) I have ran once and did a full hr of wts so far this week. I'm actually about to head to the gym now. I will keep you posted!
