I am officially just over the hump in the journey to 140lbs. A necessary 58lbs to lose, I have 29.8 behind me and have a much harder 28.2 in front of me.
I have been getting on the treadmill this week, routinely. I have been using the Nike App to track my daily walking at work. I would like to aim for about a mile of walking a day and at least a .5 mile run 1x/day... with the intent of getting .5 2x/day. Running a half mile slowest was 6.49, fastest 6.0. I know it takes time and I have to build up into being able to run, I can't just jump on the treadmill and go. With the intention to start at .25 running, I found I had more in me, but the half mile really pushes me to the limits right now. I know it will take time to get the coordination with my breathing. Once I get that, I do believe I can get my mind somewhere else, I always start that way but when my breathing gets harder, I can't. Boy does my chest hurt afterward too. Takes a few min on the couch to just catch my breath and the pain in my lungs to ease. Out of Shape! :/ But... I'm trying, I'm actually doing. Even with a cold and being all congested and just wanting to curl up under a blanket... I got on the treadmill.
Run Week 1: Walk .87 Mon PM .5 Tues AM .5 Walk .95 Tues PM .5 Hip felt strained so no Wed AM and reduced PM Walk 2.21 Wed PM .25 Hip still hurt so no Thurs AM, intended reduced PM but felt capable Walk .37 - Reduced to rest hip and raining outside Thurs PM .5 Alarm didn't go off this am no Fri AM
I don't know how weekends will work for first AM run since hubby likes to sleep in and the treadmill is in our bedroom. Maybe I can try to get it in around babies nap time but.. it's nice getting up and getting it done before excuses or "I don't feel like it"s get in my way.
