I have been doing really well with not snacking, which in reality was my downfall. I have such a sweet tooth, or a salt tooth depending on my mood and that has been getting me in trouble with trying to lose the last few pounds. So I have imposed a "no snack" rule on myself, which has been really helping, in my opinion.

It stopped raining yesterday in the afternoon and I decided that it was warm enough to get outside and walk. My friend and I went out for like an hour and 15 minutes, and this morning, sure enough my weight went down, a little lower than where I checked in last week. I'm almost to the point where I want to be, according to my new goals. Just about a pound and half to go before the 10th, which means I'm going to have to be good over the weekend. That is the hardest thing. I'm not on a particular routine over the weekends, so I don't eat at the scheduled times, so I eat when I'm hungry, then I overcompensate because I have not eaten a full meal until dinner, or I have a snack and overdo it because I'm trying to compensate for a meal. But I will pay attention to what I eat this weekend and even try to enter it into the journal here, so that way I know what I'm eating all weekend.

It's supposed to rain again today, but so far there has been nothing. I'm hoping the weather holds out so that way I can maybe get out again tonight and walk. Walking did wonders for me last year, and I'm hoping that once I do it again, that I'll feel better and some more of this weight will come off. That's all I want. I want to be close to my original goal of 120.

I have a wedding to go to at the end of the summer, this is the first time that someone from my core group of friends is getting married, so all my friends and I are going to be there. I think I'm going to try to convince my friends and I to start a challenge and compete against each other before the wedding so that way we are all in great shape and look fabulous for the pictures. One of my friends is in the wedding, and the other 4 of us (and our boyfriends) are just invited guests, but I still want us all to look great and have a good time.

Oh well, let's keep our fingers crossed for me to hit my goal before the 10th and then again on the 22nd!

Good luck! It sounds like you're doing great :) Just curious - how long have your walks typically been and how frequently? I'm sure that it's varied quite a bit, but I'm just wondering. Right now, I'm not getting home from work until about 7 pm (Chicago commutes are brutal). Fortunately, my work is moving INTO the city in a few months and I'll be home around 4:30 or 5 everyday :) BUT, until then, I've definitely been struggling with going to my gym. It's not that I don't like it; I love it! However on the days I go, I don't get home until at least 9 o'clock, and going that late in the evenings also means that parking at the gym is brutal. Sometimes I think I forgot I can get exercise by "just" taking a walk. I think I, like many others, get this mentality that you have to go torture yourself or you aren't getting enough exercise. I enjoy taking walks, and my neighborhood is pretty at dusk anyhow. I think that's definitely something I could commit to! I just need to hear from others that, 'yes, this works!', and 'yes, this IS exercise'!

Congratulations with doing so well with the no snacking! That is one of the hardest things for me to do exspecially when everyone here at work keeps bringing in all these goodies to eat. It's great that you are getting out and walking. The weather here is all rain, rain, rain as well and I need to stop making excuses and start getting myself outside. The wedding competition is a great idea. I'm dress shopping for a wedding shortly so I know that whatever size I am now I'll have to be next year unless I want to pay for alterations. Keep up the great work :)
