Adventures With Natto, Episode 3. We’re really getting into it now. Standard white guy breakfast here 😂. Tofu Miso Soup and Rice with Natto, Laver and Egg and a drizzle of Soy Sauce. I forgot to cut up some green onion. Outcome: Tastes authentic…👍🏻

👍🏼🤣You are way braver than I am. I am Japanese but I haven’t been able to pair eggs with natto. I do pair natto with okra sometimes to kick it up a notch. Anyway, I appreciate that you are somewhat serious about natto, you are doing this for your mother, and not treating my favorite food as some sort of oddity or fad. I didn’t know about vit K2, thank you for the info (Soy sauce is overrated though, next time try ponzu with natto if you like citrus flavor🍊🍋)

Happy New Year to you too. I’m not brave enough for a raw egg…sunny side up at minimum. The seaweed was the most awkward ingredient for me, but it turns out you don’t even know it’s there. I want to try Furikake seasoning at some point as well. I had pork tenderloin for dinner last night so there is a pork fried rice dish in the near future. Im not sure why I’ve never used cabbage in fried rice until this last couple weeks…I’ll probably go equal parts rice to cabbage. Green onion, carrot, egg, natto, a side of hot mustard…🤔

Morning. Japanese food is sad and crude, you see, many items are mere remnants of feudalism and I taste the fear of famines. It is not fashionable, not even healthy or tasty. I think you totally get that. You’re not japanophile, you are not eating our food as fashion, and I appreciate that very much (yeah don’t forget to add Karashi).
