Happy April 1st!!

Hope everyone has been having a wonderful day, we ended up with only 3 inches of snow last night and it has melted up nicely throughout the day.

I spent some time this morning doing my measurements, data analysis (and I keep tons of it). I use the calculators on www.freedieting.com to track fat/lean body weight, BMR to name a few. Here are a few of the things my numbers tell me:

1) I have lost a total of 20 lbs so far in this journey. 277-257 = 20 (albeit I have lost and gained a few of the same lbs over and over so far and my weight log shows it)
2) I have lost a total of 24 inches so far. 267.5-243.5 = 24
3) My total % of Body Fat has gone from 31.51% down to 28.14%
4) My fat weight has gone from 87.3 lbs down to 72.3 lbs (-15lbs of fat)
5) My lean weight has gone from 289.7 down to 184.7 (-5 lbs of lean weight).

Now losing the lean weight means you are losing your muscle...not what you want to be doing. I did step up some exercise this month with daily isometrics and found I gained back 3 lbs of muscle and I lost 5 lbs of fat. Does the scale alone tell that story??? NO!! Even if the scale tells me I only lost 2 lbs this month, the real story of losing 5 lbs of fat is so much more telling of the real story.

I would suggest if you are not digging deeper into your true results, you are doing yourself a dis-service. How ever you do it, whatever method you use, a simple excel spreadsheet will do it, or even a page in a notebook!

So to you folks out there who are freaking out daily when the scale moves up one ounce....please stop it already! Get really educated about this journey you choose to be on, take it seriously, stop whining and get it done however fast or slow you choose, whatever the method! Sorry if that sounds harsh.

So on to what's up for dinner? I tried a new way to make some baked chicken. Marinated it in buttermilk and seasonings today, rolled it in seasoned almond meal. Will see in about 20 minutes how that turns out. Roasting some brussels sprouts, green beans, mushrooms and bacon to go with. Tomorrow I am going to make some strawberry scones, tweeked my recipe a bit today and will see how those turn out. I am messing around with a "brownie" recipe after dinner, gonna combine some peanut butter in them to see how that works as a low carb option. If anyone has a good low carb brownie type of recipe, can you PM it to me please.

Again, sorry if I had my b^tch hat on back there, considered going back and editing that to a gentler message, but decided against it.
Hope everyone has a fun weekend planned!

I <3 this!!! I love the "So to you folks out there who are freaking out daily when the scale moves up one ounce....please stop it already! Get really educated about this journey you choose to be on, take it seriously, stop whining and get it done however fast or slow you choose, whatever the method! Sorry if that sounds harsh." It drives me crazy to see people freak out about a daily gain, and complain about a small loss, those small losses add up and we did not get fat overnight (or at least I know I sure didn't).

I only saw your "helpful" hat on, LOL! Really, I think what you said makes total sense. Let us know how that chicken turned out. Sounds very tasty, but most of your meals sound very tasty to me!

Babs you are so right about the number freaks and the whining, I used to do both and of course I FAILED. You are doing just fine, great entry today. You rock!

@Buffy - I think this would be great on porkchops. It was almost like a shake-n-bake consistency.

Hey Healthy...think I'm gonna use that from now on rather than Babs! You make some great points...I quit freaking out about the scale a long time ago!! lol If I was still freaking out I would be bald! I haven't lost anything since October, but it'll come....I just keep plugging along, doing what I need to do, and sooner or later...I WILL WIN!!! BWUAHAHAHA!!!! Have a great weekend!
