Well, yesterday was supposed to be a day for me to get stuff done. Took half of a personal day at work to go to the eye doctor and get my eyes checked again for new contacts/glasses, then I wanted to wash my car, go for a run, and hit the gym, all before getting my haircut.

Day started out okay, was busy at work and left just in time to make it to my appointment at 1:40. Waited for 40 minutes to see the doctor and all in all didn't even get home from the eye doctor until 4:30PM. Didn't have time to get a run in so I had to wait until after my haircut. Normally I'm not a big fan of working out at night, but it was quite relaxing and I didn't feel rushed. I finished up at the gym around 8:30PM and got home just in time to do more work! Yay!

No Garmin data today since I just ran on the treadmill, I need to invest in the foot pod so I can accurately track all my runs.

Dude, I love foot pod! Great investment! How do u track ur runs on indoor track? Ur gps works indoors?

I used to use a website and just track my miles. During my runs my treadmills at the gym track mileage so I used to write that down. Since I only use the treadmill for 5K's usually I don't have to worry about specific mileage.

Foot pod is not only a great tool for indoor tracking tho. It does ur run cadence outside as well, which is good if u wanna increase ur running speed. Watch the avg number and try to aim for higher next time. I use it everywhere I can, I never took it off my shoe since 1st day I put it on! :)

@Cindy yeah long doctor waits are a drag, thanks! @Kate I didn't know that, I'll be picking up the foodpod in a few weeks, thanks!

See, I need to be hangin out with you guys. I'm a new runner so I don't have all those cool gadgets yet. I track my outdoor stuff on RunKeeper but they don't have a Blackberry app (just iPhone & Android I think) so I have to map my routes manually. I have my first 5k coming up in just under 3 weeks but I'm really enjoying the running & expect to do more outdoor running over the summer. Will definitely look into this Foot Pod you guys mentioned!

I just read some stuff about running 2day, the higher ur cadence the faster u go, well obviously, more steps per minute u do - faster u go. My avg is 80spm so far.. Working on that :) @Kstubblefield: if you are a new runner u don't need those "toys" yet :) Just work on ur resistance 1st, fall in love with running and then buy xtra toys LOL There is this phone app SmartRunner (www.smartrunner.com) I used to use b4 I got garmin. You can track ur runs, speed, pace, calories burnt etc.. The only thing I didn't lik - ate my phone battery life so quick, I wanted to smash it!

Thanks for the tip, I'll check out SmartRunner. And at this point I think I'll die before my phone battery does, so I'm probably good. ;)
