I actually began this diet on Friday 3/18/2011. I weighed 178.5 that morning. I had shredded wheat cereal with walnuts & milk for breakfast. Good Morning America was discussing the Dukan Diet, so I thought I'd research it and after doing so, decided to give it a try. For the rest of the day, I just ate protein in the form of sliced roast beef lunch meat and precooked shrimp in the shell that I had on hand. I also drank a lot of water. I was surprised that I had no cravings.
Saturday, 3/19: I weighed in at 176.5, lost 2 lbs. I went grocery shopping and bought eggs, fat free cottage cheese, more lunch meat (beef and turkey), fat free yogurt. That day I ate 1/4 lb of turkey lunch meat, a spoon ful of the greek yogurt (not too good). Again, I was surprised that I had no cravings, except that I love fruit and noticed the bowl of oranges sitting on the kitchen table all day. I need to put them in the refrigerator.
Sunday, 3/20: I weighed in at 175.5, lost 1 lb.: Ate 7.5 g Oat Bran. beef lunchmeat, a hard-boiled egg, about a half cup of cottage cheese. I wondered if the sodium would retain water. Drank lots of water. No cravings. Oranges still sitting on the kitchen table. I really need to put those away.
Monday, 3/21: 175.5 (sodium from yesterday?): Today I thought I'd try some exercise. I managed 6 minutes on the treadmill. I'll try to do better tomorrow. I don't have enough protein here--less than 500 calories for the day. I'll go shopping tomorrow.
