As some of my old friends may have realized? I've returned to Fat Secret. Right around late spring 2011, My wife and I took a trip to Wash D.C. and I jumped into a cheat weekend with both feet. At that time, Just before that trip, I had hit my low water mark of any time since college at 218lb (I was 194 upon graduation and was 280 or so in September 2010.) I had bought size 36 waist pants, but could squeeze into old 34s in a pinch. I was looking and feeling great.

My wife and I took another trip to Minnesota in May of that year, when I was offered a new job, which began upon my return. At that point, I had gotten away from tracking my food. I'm not a Facebook guy (I don't even have an account), but truth be told I could spend all day replying to journal posts and finding a recipes on Fat Secret, when I should be servicing my clients. I sincerely apologize to anyone who I let down with my lack of support.

Well one thing led to another and life really got in the way and as it turned out, I let myself down. I changed jobs again and we had a baby boy. In the process, I forced myself to abandon my "skinny" clothes and yo-yo'ed back up, approaching where I had originally started. In retrospect, I probably lost the weight too fast, thereby not didn't fully adjusting to a new lifestyle, as opposed to staying on a "diet."

So here I am. My son is approaching 2 years old, but my wife and I seem to have found our groove. We were in Las Vegas about a month ago, where we re-affirmed ourselves to our former lifestyle from three years ago. She is full on into Weight Watchers again and I am doing a form thereof, but more just tracking my intake. I feel much better already, and I actually don't like the cheat days so far because my stomach has shrunk and I feel sick. I fully expect this journey to take a little longer than it had in the past. After all, I turn 38 in January.

Fat Secret is I really the best free site to track food, so I will continue with that function, However I am going to try to curb my journal posts and replies. One of my Fat Secret friends made an interesting observation a while back in that many discussions digress into fights about diet superiority, when in fact every person's journey is their own. In the meantime, moderation is the key for me, but I wish happy and healthy living to you all.
