Day 1 - 27/07

It is shocking how your emotional and mental health can contribute so drastically to your physical health. It has been a difficult time the last few months, my father passed away and I also stopped smoking at the same time. It took approximately 1 year for me to drop my sugar addiction and suddenly I find myself back to square one.

Before this I was very active, fit, confident, healthy and smiling. I have to get back on track and focus on my health again.

Good luck to those who happen to be in the same boat 🌺 and welcome to those who are willing to be supportive.

Be gentle on yourself, this is a sad and challenging time in your life. Give yourself a break, do the best you can do. That's, all. Healing takes time. Grief is not linear, sometimes you are feeling great like yourself, then just like that to so great. Slowly, you will feel better and get "used" to your new normal with out him in your life. This all takes time. Take it one moment at a time, that's all you can do.

Lets try hang in there. I haven’t lost a loved one but have also gained so much weight. I have about 20kg’s to lose. Sugar definitely a problem for me too. I’m trying to get back into excercise but my back is giving issues. We live in a small town so indoor pools not an option. I enjoy walking and running but I probably need to shake off some weight to be more comfortable when excercising. Being 43 also doesn’t help. I have a very long journey ahead of me but I HAVE to do this as I need to fit back into my clothes! So, lets do this. 💪🏻

The main thing is you know where you were and what it takes to get there. As long as you have a goal you are reaching for the improvement will follow. Good luck and we know you can do it!

I am really sorry for your loss, I know how it feels, I was in a similar position last year when my father passed away. it is difficult but it does get better, take it one day at a time, I am still battling to get back on track. May his soul rest in peace.
