I decided I need to start thinking about adding more exercise into my routine.

I used to employ a trainer in the hope that I could out exercise my body's desire to hang onto weight (now I know it was due to too much free circulating insulin.) I restricted calories, cut carbs, ate healthy all day long and just felt hungry, depleted and frustrated as I lost and gained the same three pounds for weeks.

Note I said, "start thinking about" and not actually doing something about it.

We are really busy with selling one property and buying to buy another. Looking at properties is a full time job right now because we've lost two bids already. It is crazy out there people!!

But I wanted to document that my body is demanding more movement. I've lost some weight, my inflammation has been greatly reduced due to the weight loss and my continuing IF schedule.

I literally am craving more movement!!!

I feel so energized all day long!!

Who am I?

I'll be finding another trainer soon. Until then I'll sign off and check out some You Tube videos....

Let me know what some of your favorites are! Be gentle!!

Swimming and dancing. One thing I never see mentioned is orienteering, which is sort of competitive hiking but you have to blaze your own trail. https://orienteeringusa.org/ But you don't have to compete. You can set up your own challenges and do them with friends.

I, just walk. That means setting a step counter and trying to beat it. I was up to 33k a day but 34 was the stew. I now do 15 to 20k and that keeps me at my goal. Give it a try and see how you go Trev

I just use a Tony Little Gazelle and do all the yard work other than mowing, and strive for 12/ 12 hrs with 250 min steps.

Great ideas! I clock in between 8,000 and 15,000 steps a day. Depends on how much computer work I have, and how many walks I take with the dogs. I'm looking to get some strength training in via some videos and eventually a trainer. Keep fighting the good fight!

On YouTube, I use 30 days of yoga with Adrienne and senior cardio with Meredith. I do a 10 minute workout with sit-ups, push ups, lunges, and squats; also a routine for my feet that I got from a podiatrist to ward off plantar fasciitis. Also I get in some walking and whizzing around the neighborhood on my bicycle. I pick and choose from these but get in a pretty good routine every day.

Yoga with Adriene has a video for any level or mood you can think of. I have been practicing with her off and on for a few years now and I love it! Yoga with Bird for a restorative practice after a long day at work or a heavy workout

While I was undergoing chemo and radiation for cancer, our support group had weekly yoga classes. The best experience for me was that I was able to participate in the sessions using a chair yoga version. I will always recommend trying yoga because it encompasses movement, stretching, strengthening, breathing, muscle building, and an inner peace I just don't find slaving over endless weight lifting sets at a gym. Thank y'all for recommending Yoga with Adrienne, I'm sure I will love it 💕

I hope it helps you out! Some of her sessions are more intense but she does have a few chair yoga classes and always offers modified versions of the poses.

I love hiking and so the idea of orienteering has always intrigued me. But I also can get lost in a paper bag, so it kind of terrifies me too. LOL. Side note: My husband was in the Army (he was a doctor) but he got to go play in the field sometimes. Once they had an orienteering challenge, so my DH figured out where the road was (based on using the sun for an E/W estimate) and got his team back to base camp in record time. An hour later the next team comes crashing through the brush all scratched and bloodied, thumping their chest and declaring my DH a cheater. Except there was no rule against using common sense and in a true military situation, using your brains would be advised..... My hubby was awarded the win.

Oh my goodness, yes, always use common sense! That's too funny. Take your hubby with you if you try orienteering.
