Hi all - a little down today. My weight is up and I've cut my calories and increased my exercise. Maybe it's just my body adjusting to the change. Saturday is my weigh in day. Hopefully it will be better then. Oh well tomorrow's another day!! Have a great Friday and weekend.

keep going, must probably is just a weird fluctuation and will go back to normal in a few days.

Increased exercise cause muscles to temporary retain water. Google "why the scale lies" for insight.

Make sure you don't cut your calories too low, especially with added exercise, because you might actually be gaining weight from not eating enough.

ChristyLA is completely right. Once you eat too little and you see major progress towards your goal, it means that you have lost muscle mass and not fat! In the long run, it only matters the fat loss. Because the muscle will increase your metabolic rates and burn even more fat. So don't be fulled by the number on the scale. For instance, if you gain muscle, your scale will say that you're fatter when it's actually the other way round! Good luck and keep foccused! :D

Thanks for all the comments. I cut from 1500 to 1300 caloies. Not much of a cut. Weight was back down today. Feeling better today.

It definitely takes a week or two for the weight to start coming off after you started the new habit of less calories and working out every day. I just started to loose weight after I adjusted my calories to 2000/day and working out everyday.

I gained weight right off the bat. I am doing this under physician advisement and cut my cals to 1200 or less. When I weighed in on the 2nd day, I freaked out because I was up nearly 10 lbs. Talked to a nurse and she told me to hold fast and not weigh myself again for a couple of days because my body was adjusting to the lack of carbs and cals and holding in what it can. (Kind of like starvation mode.) She said in 3-5 days, I should see the weight start pouring off. And, as long as I keep exercising with cardio and strength training, my body with burn fat and minimize muscle loss.
