In addition to a 500+calorie deficit, I am increasing my exercise quite a bit more than I am used to. I have a recumbent stationary bike that I have been riding as close to daily as I can. I try to ride 3 miles per day regularly and at least one longer ride (5-10 miles) per week. I have also added walking a mile each day (when not raining) and I have been doing some arm reps with small weights. It isn’t much but way more than my “normal” amount of activity. I have also been hitting the gardens pretty hard this summer which involves a great deal of shoveling, lifting, and bending.
