Good Morning everyone. Looks like we had some fireworks toward the end of the work day yesterday. I gotta tell ya, I was enjoying myself until it turned really nasty. I hope that thread gets back on point, and I hope the OP gets out of it what she (assumption) was looking for...

I went on a rant a couple weeks ago, so I'm not going to rehash what I said back then (Ref: 2/11 Journal Entry)...BUT COME ON PEOPLE!! We are all on the same team here, aren't we? I thought we agree back then that there is no one-size-fits-all path and there is certainly no defined finishline? Okay screw it. Onward and upward...

I had a great night last night. I got home a little after 6:30 and did 10.8 miles on my recumbant Schwinn, supposedly wasting time doing my interval cardio workout (okay, I'll stop now...) I started up the PS3 but I ended up just flipping channels (John Stewart rerun, Libya coverage, and Jeppardy. Openning Day can't get here fast enough). I said in yesterday's journal that I, a devout carnivour, was going to make Kate's Spicy Vegan Lentil Soup. Two words: OUTRAGEOUSLY GOOD!!!! I was apprehensive because soup is not my specialty. Also I put in 3 habeneros (albeit seeded), but when I tasted it?...Oh yeah, that's a winner!!! One of my best friends growing up is from India and his family used to make something tasting similar. The only other enhancement I can think of would be a piece of naan (middle eastern/Indian bread, similar to pita). I also added a slice of provolone to up the calories.

Oh CMR you made me laugh. Way to go on the 10.8 miles! that is a few miles under your belt thats for sure. I usually end up watching netflix these days because all I ever seem to find while on the treadmill are re-runs or Libya coverage and don't get me wrong... I am interested in the things happening in Libya... but it does make working out a little less fun. Have a great day!

Awesome! So glad you like it! :) Soup used to be something I never made, only bought. Then I realized I was being silly, it's actually the easiest thing to make! I like cooking where you put it all in a pot and walk away. Because it's such a low fat, low calorie dish, I feel completely vindicated when I top it off with a dollop of sour cream and use a piece of toasted rye bread for dipping :)

Totally agree. I don't know why people like to pick fights here! You're absolutely right about us all being on the same team, so it's silly when we start taking jabs at each other. I like to look at us as one big happy family! Congrats on the crazy long bike ride!! Wow...I can't wait to finally be outside and ride my old vintage beauty :) I'm so glad you reviewed Kate's soup!!! I'm looking forward to making it. have a great day :D

Tubbs, you asked about the games I play on the PS3. Check out yesterday's journal if you haven't already. The bike ride takes 40 minutes. I'm at the mercy of the machine to tell me how fast I'm going and how much energy I'm expending. I do a preprogrammed route called "Ride in the Park", but I do it on level 8 so it's anything but.

Ahhh here it is! Okay, adding the soup to my list. Found a great place yesterday that has a wide variety of lentils.

This is one of my favorite things to make and have as leftovers. You can also add other things to it to make it more filling. Carrots and potatoes are good :)
