It's amazing that when I begin to lose weight, people start to care HOW I do it and whether HOW I lose weight is healthy or not.

Versus when I'm gaining weight, people don't give a flying fig about HOW I gain weight or how unhealthy it is to store so many extra calories on my body.

When I got lectures yesterday at a family gathering about how I'm "starving myself" when I do IF, that I will destroy my metabolism, that I will lose muscle mass, I just kept eating my cake and drinking my wine as I let then know about the many unique benefits of IF:

- Weight and body fat loss – improved body composition.

- Lowered blood insulin and glucose levels

- Reduced hemoglobin A1c (A1c) levels

- Reduced medication dependency

- Improved blood pressure (hypertension)

- Improved cholesterol levels[10,29,31]

- Improved mental clarity and concentration

- Increased energy 

- Increased growth hormone 

- Increased longevity

- Activated cellular cleansing by stimulating autophagy

- Reduction of inflammation


Plus, There’s no special equipment, foods or supplements with intermittent fasting.

Everyone has to follow what works for them. I say prove the naysayers wrong, not by telling them but by showing them how it is done! Gr8 job enjoying the cake and wine while getting healthy!!

it is interesting isn't it. I have experienced the same in my fasting journey. it took several Ekberk and Fung videos before my husband agreed that this was the best plan for me. If the person is a true friend I layer on all the science and health benefits. True friends will get it and be a support. If not, I just smile and nod my head. You got this girl!

Thanks for all the positive comments! I'm down another half pound this week (despite restaurant meals and two family gatherings with loads of yummy foods that I enjoyed without guilt. :)

I run into the same thing. Okay with me eating pizza, Twizzlers...etc...but can't believe I'm eating carbless ice cream. And the comments are generally from someone overweight. I've started to ignore the comments.

@🔺️-W &@kaitlync04, you both know what works for you. Ignore people who aren't supportive of your successes at maintaining a healthy you. I get the same conversations from people I know.
