Put your scale in a sunny place and water it every week.. It will eventually start to like you and blossom... You can also try to wear a wig and step on it backward. Maybe it wont recognize you....

I like your thinking, Puhpine!

Don't be discouraged. The tape measure is a better friend than the scale. Especially when you don't have that much to loose. You're probably gaining more muscle, (which I heard retains more water). Keep up the good work, and DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!! xoxoxoxo

Puhpine…very funny! Weight goes up, down and sideways. This is a FACT of the human body. Fact, not Fat!

The scale might not be giving positive feedback at the moment, but not negative either, and being able to fit in clothes you haven't been able to wear in a long time is wonderful. Keep pushing full steam ahead!

Quitting diet soda is a plus for your health. Don't worry so much about the scale if you see a difference in your body. It's ok the scales will drop eventually. Experience, mine keeps getting stuck as well. Sunny place for my scale might be ok, I don't think my cheapie scale would like the water much. :))

Wow! You have made such great progress so I am sure this plateau is the worst! But the thing is you have got the right mindset that you must keep trudging along because the scale has to budge at some point! There are so many different variables that make the scale say one thing versus how we feel and how clothes are clearly fitting us. Just keep pushing. Little changes here and there and in time the scale will adjust.

What Tired said... Additionally, most scales don't tell the whole story unless it's one of the more sophisticated ones that can calculate water and fat percentages too. The scale is probably not budging due to the fact that as you're weight training you're picking up muscle where you're losing fat with the cardio. Plus I've always been told that muscle weighs more than fat because fat, when burned and broken down, is mostly water while muscle is pretty solid. Keep on keeping on and don't let the scale get you down.

You are doing awesome! don't worry about the numbers, they will drop!

If your body fat is dropping and your weight is staying the same, you're doing it right. Don't sacrifice further just for a number. Stay on track and smile each time you see the fat decrease.

Darn that old scale! We are never happy without the numbers being a confirmation of our success. I am the same way, I want to read the results in black and white.

Getting rid of the soda will help. Haven't had any diet pepsi since April 1st. Good luck

This just recently happened to me. A trainer at my gym told me that excess protein turns into glucose, and I just knew he was wrong. I did some research, and turns out that he is absolutely correct. I couldn't believe it! I upped my fats and dropped my protein, and the scale is moving again, and fast. This may not work for everyone, but it definitely is working for me.

I'd rather have my body getting toned & being comfy in clothes I haven't been able to wear in a while than have the scale go down but not notice any difference in how my body looks & feels! It sounds like you're doing great - keep doing what you're doing!
And Healthymomma, you & your trainer are absolutely correct! That's an important premise of Atkins, which is the WOE that I've followed for years.

Diet soda has a long history of causing weight gain by stimulating cravings. Replace it with club soda or seltzer water and add your own flavoring if desired, like lime or lemon juice.
Nearly all gym trainers haven't a clue about nutrition. Their training is at least 7 years behind the science. Forget about protein and focus on lowering the calorie density of your diet. This will widen your calorie deficit and result in weight loss.
If you are using scale weights you are being mislead. Scales lie. You are probably losing weight that is not showing up on the scale yet. You should follow a trend indicator like Hacker's Diet to know what is really happening with your weight. See my chart for an example.

After four weeks of good loses and then a stall for two weeks, I really analyzed what I was eating/drinking on fatsecret. I had been keeping track in a notebook and probably wasn't being accurate. I cut out artificial sweeteners and kept my protein within the lower half of the recommended range. I became stricter with getting 15 carbs of foundation vegetables and had no more than 5 "non-veg carbs" a day. BAM! Lost 2 more pounds! I'm faithfully tracking now.
