Good Morning All-

I hope everyone had as a pleasant of an evening last night as I. I got home at a reasonable time and I was able to work out. Wow, is that refreshing. I also added some calisthenics last night and this morning. The meal I was so excited to make last night (Creamy Tomato, Shrimp and Poblano Pasta from Kraft Foods)? I won’t say it was disappointing, but...well...something was missing. I added some garlic powder and onion to make a little more palatable to me.

I think I’ve isolated the main issue: I’m not particularly fond of green bell peppers. It seemed that Poblano peppers (mildly hot) turn into bell pepper when the seeds are removed and/or cooked. I still have three more servings (brought one to work for lunch) and I refuse to waste 3/4 pounds of shrimp, which my wife doesn’t like. Be that as it may, I’ll probably try it again, but with red bells (which I like) and crushed red hot pepper.

Anyhow, if that’s what I have to complain about, then we all should be so lucky...I apologize for being somewhat of a downer lately, but here’s to a positive Tuesday **raising my can of Polar Seltzer**. Salut!!!

Ciao, All!!

Here, here! I really like spicy foods so I would agree - go with red bell and hot pepper. I like that especially with shrimp and pasta. My Korean gf got me into spicing up everything and her hubby is Mexican - so there you go - a great case of heartburn! I imagine that if we're all chronicling our FS lives there will be ups and downs. So, here's to a positive Tuesday as I need that as well! Salut!!!

You can tell the difference between red and green bell peppers? I always buy the green because... they are cheaper... lol but I don't think I'd actually be able to tell the difference between the two. Now green bell peppers and green habinaros.... you can tell the difference between!! lol

@Mom-Green bell peppers taste more acidic to me. Red, Orange, and Yellow seem much less harsh.

LOL, you know. I had a feeling, CMR, that you have a bit of distinguished palate for food. I was right!

Yeah. Maybe I'll apply for Hell's Kitchen. I've always wanted to be called a "Donkey" on Primetime TV.

LOL - I do love that show! You would have a FS following for sure.

I'd have a problem creating my own recipes. I do enjoy the show, but I think they need to change up the menus a little. They make too much Wellington and rizzoto. Also I heard rumors that they sabbotage the contestants during dinner service by turning the heat down or off on the ovens. It makes for great drama, but I'd lose it on someone.

You know, I've never had Beef wellington and I kinda feel like I'm missing out on something there. I love rissoto so I can't complain there. It's pretty easy to make but also easy to screw up so I wonder if that's he uses it a lot. Sabatoge??? I guess I shouldn't be surprised but that's pretty bogus.

I like Risotto too. But they make it so bloody much (Ref: Chef Ramsey)!! I suppose it is quite versatile, but still. Re: The Sabotage. It's just a rumor, but it makes sense. All the contestants have years of experience in the kitchen. You would think they all know the correct temps and times, or at least figure it out after a day or two. They all can't be great over a 14 day span. Where's the drama in that? It also shows that the winner can keep their eye on many dishes at once, which would certainly be a requirement as a head chef at those types of restaurants.

LOL! Have you ever watched Kitchen Nightmares? "Shut it dowwnn!" Yes, that does make sense. When I started learning how to cook it took me quite some time to keep an eye on two things at once and I'm a multi-tasker in other areas of life. Very stressful! I can only imagine keeping an eye on like 5 different things and having everything come out at the same time. I would like to eat at Ramsey's restaurant in LA one day. $$$ but very curious.
