Very happy today. I did my best not to give in! I had a low-fat yogurt for breakfast. I pretty much had celery, carrots and an apple throughout the day. My hubby cooked an awesome dinner, just for me--Birdseye Steamfresh frozen veggies (no fat/no chol) and added raw shrimp he had cooked up (with a little Old Bay). I am trying to eat foods that are a little higher in Iodine and shrimp is supposed to be one of them. I won't overdo as I know it's higher in carbs. I saved my calories for wine (my treat tonight) and still came in under seven hundred calories. Calories, low-fat and portion control is what I am trying to work on. I am hoping to add in exercise next! How is everyone else doing? Any tips for low cal dinners?

So sweet that your hubby cooked just for you! Since I do the cooking (and it is not my favorite thing to do) I make one meal for both of us, and one starchy side for DH. For example, I'll make Chicken Divan, have mine on broccoli and DH has his on rice. Maybe you two could work our a few meals like that?

BuffyBear--great idea. I would like him to diet, but he's not ready for it. This would be a great way of introducing one meal, though. If I cooked it (he likes to cook all the meals, though) and put it over broccoli that would be healthy for all of us. I'm trying to watch my little girl's diet. She's not "fat," but I do think she eats too many sweets, carbs and high fat items. She like broccoli and this would be awesome. Thanks!
