Today is the beginning of "lose 20 lbs by Christmas". I have no doubt I can do this as I have already lost 26 already this summer. Its now a new goal to add to my already existing goals. I do worry about the holidays and the cooler weather which makes me reach for comfort food. I also enjoy cooking or my family and baking. I will allow myself a taste of what I make but that is all. I can easily lose control if I indulge. I find the more I eat the more I WANT to eat. If I allow a craving to pass it soon disappears completely. I have also been able to quit the mindless eating out of boredom. If I find I want to snack while watching a tv show, I reach for a cut apple. I have a Pampered Chef apple cutter which makes this really quick and easy. I also recently bought a food scale as I am SHOCKED as to what a NORMAL portion is. I had been eating about double that if not more. No one ever told me what a portion was! I think they should teach this in school!
