This is interesting and answers some of my questions on the pros and cons to the Hex bar.

I use the barbell because we only have one hex bar at my gym and half the time it’s gone (as in can’t be found anywhere). Perhaps this is why my lower back is giving me less troubles these days?

Yeah I’m at a PF where the closest thing I can get to a barbell is a Smith machine.

I prefer the smith machine because of the controlled movement. I can add more weight on it and know my form is better. Wish we had enough room for a smith machine at home! And a bench press with rack :). We use the YMCA because they have stuff for the kids. Been considering changing but I don’t think PF has a basketball court or child care.
