So...I finally have time to sit down and write about my adventures this past weekend! My siblings and I took my brother out for his 50th birthday. We started off with dinner at a pretty fancy restaurant that my sister had picked. My family is pure Pennsylvania Dutch and we're real Meat and potato people. We all had quite a laugh trying to figure out how to prounouce all the dishes and then couldn't understand WHY we didn't get salad with our pasta dishes!!! Too much Olive Garden I guess... we all need some culture! lol.
After dinner we walked down to Fells point in Baltimore where there are bars and clubs of any size, shape and flavor! It must have been a popular place for bachelorette parties because there were young women everywhere with little tiaras on or shirts that said "bridesmaid" etc... I guess that was me 15 years ago! Lots of college kids and NOT many people me and my siblings ages! My husband and I remarked to each other how "old" we felt! It's just not our scene anymore... Imagine in only 8-10 years that will be OUR children dancing in the clubs and having a good time! seems like only yesterday for us.... pause for nostalgia...
AFter the bars, we surprised my brother by taking him to the RITZ. hmmmmm.... never again! we're thinking this is a pretty clean place with girls still wearing SOMETHING when they are dancing??! NOT! complete nothing! I mean, hoo hoo's right out in sight! ugh! Our waitress said that both her sisters were dancers and using the money to pay for college. sweetheart- there's got to be something else they can do! Get a paper route! It was ridiculous seeing 20 year olds climbing poles for old men! they wil look back on it some day and say "Why did I ever...?!"
I'm one for having fun, but this place will NOT be on my list for taking my next brother out! They guys saw a dance or two, downed a few drinks and were were out of there! That was my first and Last time in a strip club!
so.. other then that, it was a great weekend. we spent the night at my sisters house and it was like a family slumber party!
I don't think my brother will EVER forget his 50th birthday!
