What do you use to calculate calories burned? The app or a wearable?

Thanks everyone! I use my iwatch. My active calories run about 500 high I figure from how my weight goes. This workout was a killer (only about 1200 can be attributed to the actual workout). It was a chest and shoulder day. I warmed up with a 15 minute run/walk. Then my wife coaxed me into a trx class that almost killed me 😂
