The season of gluttony is upon us!!! Be vigilant, and stay away from the cookies! 😳. Or say a prayer for me that I can resist! 🤣

We called them vanilla butter cookies when I was a kid. I think they are the same, look the same and seemed like the cookie was mostly butter and just melted in your mouth. Haven't had them for awhile because it's too easy to eat TOO many!

Dont eat it. It is a very high price to pay for low quality nutrition. Just breath and walk away 🙂

My grandma made these every Christmas. Then my mom made them every Christmas. Now my daughter makes them every Christmas. The baking thing skipped my generation. I have my grandmother's original recipe card framed on my kitchen counter. My daughter has my mom's (her grandmother) original recipe card framed on her kitchen counter. Enough of the history of how these evolved in our family... they are my favorite. Now that I'm watching what I eat... I limit it to a few, and resist taking any home with me when offered.

The Russians, Danish, and Mexican cultures all claim the powdered sugar balls as their "wedding" cookies. Clear as mud! 😂🥰😂

Just eat them. 😋😉 I agree with DP, taste is what matters. @LeiLei, our oldest daughter made some used lime and we ate them all on our ride up to San Francisco one year. Erquiaga, Mexican Wedding Cookies is what I know yhem as, but will them no matter what they are called. 🙋‍♀️

That's supposed to read as *using, not used lime! 😄

newduggan, you are going to get so confused reading all these comments. I guess there is no right or wrong way, just a matter of what you truly want. 💕

Juliejbird...sweet baking skipped me too. My grandmother just passed away (at 104) a couple of months ago. That whole side of the family makes tons of her different cookie recipes. I won't be seeing them this year, so there won't be cookies around. Seeing the pic above makes me nostalgic for my childhood and Christmas' past. Now I need to go bake bread or chapati. :)
