Just recording my weight - the weight fluctuates from 287 to 282 depending on time of day and other bodily functions. I am settling for a middle ground. We i can safely say i am in the 280s now - I hope to see the 270 soon but again i am not holding myself to a schedule, this has been my downfall in previous attempts. My goal is not to get thin or lose weight but to get healthy. This means getting my blood sugar under control, eating properly, and increasing my overall wellness both physically and mentally.

I have learned you cannot focus on your physical wellness without paying attention to your mental state as well. In the past my body would lose weight but my mental state would suffer in terms of stress. Stress over food choices, stress over macro levels, stress over mistakes and stress over scale movement. These all increased as the "diet" progressed and i did not hit my target goal in times i had set out. As mental stress increased it began to affect my physical state and soon worries I had in my mind started to manifest it self into physical stress, such as lack of sleep, exhaustion, negativity in my moods.

I started to realize that these stresses would lead me down the road to self sabotage. This time around I have changed my goal and my outlook. My goal is not to lose weight (that maybe an outcome) but to be healthy and my outlook from a diet to a new way of life. A life where I treat my body better and provide it the things it needs. You cannot drive a car and put in bad fuel and not maintain it and expect it to run well. If you want to keep your car for a long time and have it function well you need to care for it. So this is not a battle of the scale but a life long plan of maintenance and caring for my body.

This was suppose to be just a quick note to myself - even if the scale hasn't moved much it is moving in the right direction and to update that my body is reacting positively to the new life. Sugars are down spike are low, sleep is restful, I am laughing and enjoying life, stress is down, so all things are looking up. slow changes are better than great upheaval.
