Celebrating the small accomplishment. I have the same food I had yesterday. Still lacking diet food. I adjusted what I ate and avoided carb the best I could. I do want to add that this isn’t accurate entirely. I cut out portions of what I ate to cut carbs.

You are going to receive a ton of unsolicited advice here - so here's some more, LOL. TRY to not think of certain foods as 'diet' foods so that while you are approaching this slowly you can learn to eat and enjoy 'all' foods in moderation. As a lifetime dieter (and repeated regainer) I know that part of my failure was separating food into 'good' vs 'bad' categories and THAT deprivation led to an inability to control when I would wade into the 'bad' category. You've got a lot of time ahead of you. This won't happen overnight because you didn't get to this weight overnight. Breathe and give it time. Learn and practice moderation. Make it something you can do every day every meal for the rest of your life and you'll be happier.

Unsolicited advice and this my journal is my absolute favorite part of this app. I’m so happy that I randomly stumbled on a article about sites and this one was the best one in my mind. Honestly, this diet lets me enjoy tons of food I enjoy. The hardest part is cutting bread and potatoes. I’ve been eating so many potatoes lately that I’ve just been sick of them. Bread is my challenge. I already won my battle over sweets. I’ve never been one to really like them, but I would shove them down my throat as if they were going to disappear.

Zuchinni is one of my favorite substitutes for pasta's and there are many great recipes. A lot of people sub cauliflower for potatoes - I can say I made cauli-salad (like potato salad except using cauli) and I seriously couldn't tell the difference. I could tell it was cauli on the pizza crust or mashed cauli. It's a matter of convincing the mind to accept it I suppose.

Following what FullaBella said, I loved this article about labeling food as "optimal" and "less optimal" instead of good and bad: http://physiqonomics.com/the-two-baskets-theory/ :) I also recommend every Physiqonomics article, they rock!

For me it was more about avoiding carbs. There is no such thing as a bad food with moderation. But at the start of a diet there are foods that need to be avoided in order to Segway your journey on that diet. I’m just trying to build a sturdy path to reach a more healthy me at the end.
