It's hard to believe that I'm eating around 2,000 calories a day and not losing weight. There has got to be something wrong. I realize that I'm eating too many carbs, but still!! should just simply, calories in versus calories burned be the formula for weight loss?

Frustrating but I'm not giving up. But now, I'm going to go have one Girl Scout Samoa cookie because darn it, I have eaten really well today!

It usually takes 3500 calories to burn one pound of fat. That might help you when you get anxious about calorie intake. You did good on your first day. I started my first day with eating girl scout cookies (actually, the same kind you ate) and many more than one. I figured it would take my burning 17,500 calories in order to take off five pounds. For some, that can be a lot of work. Take good care of yourself and keep up the hard work. Rachel

Your are doing great! Have you been drinking your water?? That is a biggie! Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged.

You would think it's just calories in and calories out, but it doesn't always work that way. Other things can factor in such as hormones, genetics, throid problems, medications, women problems, stress, sodium, and also what kind of food you are eating. The more lean protein, high fiber, non-processed foods the better. instead of eating the same calories every day, try to vary it more. Eat high one day, then go lower the next. Sometimes, that can help jumpstart the weight loss. Good luck!
