I usually just calculate how much I ate and tailor the site to match it. So if your food says 100g is 100 calories but the site says it's 150 calories, I'll put that I ate 75g so the calories are correct. I haven't figured out how to add a new food.

You can edit foods on the desktop version of the site. Click on the food and at the left hand side there's an edit here option for foods that people have added. Just be wary that you don't understate the carbohydrate content though as this site includes fibre in Carbs but most food labels don't.

I find odd the need to add calories. if you input carbs proteins and fats grams per hundred grams, calories are consequential (carb*4+pro*4+fats*9). what's the point to input cals?

Yeah, hell no, you should see my diet excel data sheet, that is serious maths lol. As to your question, I keep adding new items to the database and i always add the photo of the barcode, so that anyone buying the same product find macros ready. I count macros too, calories alone are useless to me.
